Messing with some terminology this week on Observation Deck. I’m interested in what constitutes the narratives we tell ourselves about narratives — stories behind stories, making-of stories, stories that characters tell themselves, stories that characters can’t hear but viewers and readers can. Partially that’s because I watch a lot of television, and I wonder how they make it. And partially it’s because … well, watch the video and you’ll see.
